This September Local Radio is back in MK on 106.3FM!

Local radio station MKFM have announced today they will be going live on 106.3FM from Monday 7th September 2015.

This is fantastic news for the people of Milton Keynes who have been campaigning to bring local radio back to the city. MKFM will be broadcasting from brand new studios at the Intu shopping centre, Central Milton Keynes.

I’m so excited to be able to get into my car or turn on my radio at home and listen to local presenters and local news that’s relevant to me again. It’s been a long time coming and I’m sure I’m not alone in congratulating the whole MKFM team on this spectacular milestone!

Along with a Fresh Mix of Music MKFM will cover MK Dons matches and local news and weather. Also, like local radio should, they will be supporting many different local events and charities.

Programme Director Chris Gregg said: “We’ve waited four years for this and can’t wait to launch on FM. We’re very grateful to the hundreds of listeners and local organisations who gave messages of support and helped our licence application to succeed.”

MKFM was started by former Horizon Radio programme controller Chris Gregg in July 2011, and after five FM trial broadcasts, the station launched on DAB Digital Radio in May 2013.
