The sweetest tale of girl meets boy
Once The Musical is based on the 2007 film of the same name written and directed by John Carney.
Once couldn’t feel more down to earth, really. Set in Ireland, a heartbroken singer/songwriter, known simply as “boy” is about to throw away his dreams when he meets Czech young mother “girl” whose uplifting spirit, direct talk and motivation turns into five days that neither will forget.
Daniel Healy and Emma Lucia star as “Boy” and “Girl” and between them they will make you giggle, aww, giggle, then shatter your heart.
They are supported by the most impressive group of musical creatives who slip into the story as actors but all perform an instrument and sing, dance, thump, stomp and all, throughout the show.
With ingenious staging, the story moves you through their whirlwind days, whilst keeping you feeling warm and snug in the heart of it all.
This love story doesn’t need Hollywood or extraordinary lives. It isn’t even about boy winning girl, or happily ever afters.
It’s about loving and being loved and doing what you love and finding the perfect harmony for all that love inside us and the love we give out to work perfectly.
The perfect after-valentines smush fest.
Once is at Milton Keynes Theatre 17 – 22 February 2020
